Our Programs
Sistering CU is founded on the belief that parenting should happen in community. Our programs are motivated by a desire to provide families with a realistic and compassionate view of new parenthood and hands-on physical and emotional support.
Home Visiting
Adding a new baby to the family can be overwhelming. Fortunately, our postpartum volunteers are trained to help make those first few weeks and months a little easier. We offer 12 postpartum visits, usually once a week, at no cost to our families. The volunteer will arrange a schedule that works for the family, and will do whatever is helpful at that particular moment in time. Support can come in a variety of different ways and no task too small. Some examples include:
-
Nonjudgmental support and companionship
-
Meal preparation and light household tasks
-
Care for siblings
-
Newborn care
