Parent Testimonials
“The time for my new baby to arrive was approaching and I had heard from a few sources about sistering CU, so I signed up. I was scared and fretting how I could possibly handle having two children as a single mother. I do not have my sisters around or any family for that matter to be my support or help me in any way. I am not used to having any help to even just let me breathe for a second. There’s always that extra hand I wish I had to do many things at once. My volunteer was that extra hand and it has been a huge weight off my shoulders.

I have gone through losing my job, having no help from my baby’s father, trouble working out childcare, stress from work, postpartum depression, and much more. L’s help through all of it has been better than any help I could have imagined. I believe that she saved me from going into a panic, deep depression, anything that would put me in a bad mental state that I didn’t want to be in. I know that it’s not much time every week but her willingness to help me do the things that I have been meaning to do is so refreshing. I also enjoyed having her be someone who I can just talk to and love on my children. Words can’t express my appreciation for my volunteer and this program. I can’t thank you enough.”
